About Me

Hey, I’m Nicolas Vermeulen 👋 and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I’m hopelessly in love with chocolate.

I grew up in Belgium, where chocolate isn’t just candy—it’s part of everyday life. Some kids grew up with cartoons; I grew up with pralines in the kitchen cupboard and the smell of chocolate cake sneaking out of the oven. One of my earliest memories is licking the bowl after my grandmother’s chocolate tortes. (Honestly, I still do that.)

Why I Started This Blog

For me, chocolate has always been more than just dessert. It’s comfort. It’s celebration. It’s that little square of sweetness that makes a bad day better. Over the years, I started experimenting in my own kitchen—sometimes making a complete mess, sometimes surprising myself—and I thought, why not share this obsession with the world?

So here we are. My Chocolate Daily is my little corner of the internet where I post the recipes I love most. Some are classics (because nothing beats a fudgy brownie), some are experiments (like chili-spiced hot chocolate that’ll warm you right through), but all of them come with one goal: to make life just a little bit sweeter.

What You’ll Find Here

Expect plenty of:

  • Chocolate cakes that might make you skip dinner.
  • Quick treats for when you “just need something now.”
  • Old Belgian favorites, with stories behind them.

A Quick Warning…

I’m not a fancy pastry chef. I burn things. I forget timers. I’ve made chocolate lava cakes that looked more like chocolate puddles. But that’s the fun of it—and I think desserts taste better when they’re made with a little laughter anyway.

Let’s Be Chocolate Friends

If you’re here, you probably love chocolate as much as I do (or you’re at least chocolate-curious). Stick around, try a recipe or two, and don’t be shy—send me a message or tag me if you make something from the blog. Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone else dive into the chocolate madness.

Alright, enough about me. Go grab some cocoa powder, melt some butter, and let’s make something delicious.

With chocolate-stained fingers,
Nicolas 🍫
